Valleys of Life
The "Valleys of Life" podcast will take you on a journey through the ups and downs of life. Each episode is a ray of hope that illuminates our path as we tread through the darkest valleys of our lives. In this podcast, we will examine how our lives can be nurtured even through the struggles and trials we encounter, how our character can develop and strengthen even in our lowest and darkest moments in life, and how we can thrive as we navigate through our valleys of life and yield the fruits of a well-lived life.
Billy Graham once said that "Mountaintops are for views and inspiration, but fruit is grown in the valleys." We therefore strongly believe that just as there is growth in the valleys of nature, there is also growth in the valleys of life, and “the God of the mountain is still God in the valley; the God of the good times is still God in the bad times; and the God of the day is still God in the night." Our God is the "God our Maker who gives songs in the night" (Job 35:10) and he can enable us to be joyful and sing even in the midst of our affliction, as Paul and Silas did in the jail at Philippi in Acts 16. God, our Maker, can also give us the grace to rejoice even when life imprisons us or leads us like captives through the valleys of life, as Paul did in the joyful epistle to the Philippians that he wrote while in prison.
This podcast is like a compassionate friend that walks with you through the valleys of life with guiding light while offering support and providing hope and encouragement during difficult times of trials, testing, and suffering that we usually face.
Join us as we navigate life's ups and downs together, finding hope and inspiration along the way.
Valleys of Life
Life, Death, and the Wisdom in Between
Are you ready to confront an essential, yet uncomfortable reality that we all must face - our mortality? In this thought-provoking episode of Values of Life, I, your host Justus from Kampala, Uganda, guide you through a journey into the inevitable. We dissect an ancient fable of a merchant's servant and his eerie encounter with death while unraveling the profound significance it holds for our lives.
We're not just philosophizing about death here; we ground our conversation in cold hard facts from America's Kennedy Institute of Bioethics Research Library. With these insights, we shine a light on the stark reality of mortality rates worldwide. Basing our discourse on the wisdom from Ecclesiastes, we emphasize that death is an inevitable part of life that we should take seriously. Join us as we broach discussions around the certainty of death, and how it can inspire us to live with purpose and wisdom. Be prepared to have your perspective on life transformed and perhaps even find yourself praying for wisdom as we contemplate the brevity of life and our inescapable appointment with death.
